Jasmine chuckled and nodded,” he’s wpnderful. Ive had him since he was a baby so he’s been domesticated.”
“Wow. All I had as a child were horses, and dogs and cats, and… I think I’ve told you this before.” Naveen laughed softly. He decided to lay back against a low pile of stones. “This is more comfortable.” He put his hands behind his head and grinned at Jasmine. “Care to join me?”
She laughed softly, ” I believe so.” Jasmine watched him and chuckled, “sure.” She leaned back and her her head on his chest. She turned her head up sideways, looking at Naveen upside down, “Better?”
Naveen put his arm around Jasmine. “Much.” The cool night breeze surrounded them, and Naveen rested his cheek on Jasmine’s head. A few (evening)stars were shining bright. “We should just stay like this forever.”
Jasmine nodded and closed her eyes, “Forever.” She quickly re-opened her eyes thinking about how late it is. She jolted up and looked at Naveen,”Father must be getting worried.” She was sure he was awake by now.
Naveen was practically dosing off when Jasmine suddenly got up.
“Uh, yes, I guess. Do you want to go back now?”
Jasmine nodded and stood up, “I’m sorry I just hate him worrying.” Which was true, him being a single father and getting older, she hated to cause him any pain or grief.
